Took too long for order to be taken [20 minutes]. Then another waitress came to take our order again. 30 minutes after order taken one of the wait staff came to tell me they had no sweet potatoes. Should have been informed before meal was ready to be brought out. Wait staff very disorganized. Note to cook staff with black pepper, less is more. Price was too much for quality if food. Very unimpressed with entire experience. Won't be going back any time soon.
I ate a burger that was supposed to be medium well came out more medium to medium rare. The burger was good but I think it was overpriced for what I got. The service was the worse part of our experience. She got our drink order finally came back with our drinks about 10 minutes later then it we ordered our food and it was about 20 minutes later. My glass had been empty for a while and our waitress never came back to check on us she delivered our food and still made no effort to see if we wanted a refill. Then we never saw her again till she brought our check she then decided to see if we needed a refill never asked about our food how it was.
Beer and appetizers was great. Talked with management she was nice and gave us coupon. We ate supper later on and steaks were aweful. 90% fat on 1 steak the other was 60% fat.
Just left the restaurant, which is a beautiful brick building located a block off the main street in Dodge City. The inside is nicely furnished. Swivel chairs are at the tables in the room off the bar. There is a little stage for bands to play. The kitchen is open to view and the bar is large. We sat in the side room which has floor to ceiling glass which gives a direct view to the laundromat across the street. Based on where you are sitting you can also see the ACE Hardware or the main street. My husband ordered the Tombstone burger which came with fries and he said it was prepared properly and tasted great. I ordered the Prime Rib which came with a roll, sauteed veggies, choice of potato and I ordered an additional side Ceasar salad. Our orders were taken promptly. We had a Margarita which was on the Happy Hour menu which had jalapenos in it and it was delicious. It took about 15-20 minutes for the food to come. I did not receive my Ceasar salad prior to the meal and did not receive it for several minutes after that. I also had to ask for the horseradish sauce and the roll that came with the meal. I was told the reason the salad was late because the salad person wasn't there. I was told the reason there were no rolls was because they sat out too long and were hard. The waitress did ask how things were and apologized for our wait. The survey option at the bottom of the ticket did not work. I would give this place another try if I was in the area again. The prime rib was very good.
The food was good, the service was good. I went two nights in a row. I really enjoyed it. Nothing about it was beyond a regular restaurant. If I’m nearby, I’ll go back.
